Hi there american chums - had loads of bikes mostly japanese sports 600s. Just bought a 2010 cbr1000r fireblade - traded in a 2009 yam r6 - which I loved, but fancied something a bit plusher and gruntier. I have had R1s and a ZX10 before, but the sheer grunt and blistering acceleration of this thing ... beats them all. I am still getting used to the handling, and I reckon it is almost as sharp as the R6 -I am running it in quite hard as I believe that this may help the rings seal better to the bores, and I am going to keep a keen eye on the oil consumption. It is not as pretty as the R6 and is a bit quieter, but I am gradually falling for its charms - have fun, ride safe and stay sunny side up !
