Almost but not quite, but with its low seat height adds confidence when riding the tricky stuff. More so now that I'm not so 'gun it and go' when riding over rough stuff. That's likley one of the biggest stand outs between the two I found, the KLX has the common steel pegs. If your bothered by the vibes coming through the soles of your boots keep them, otherwise take them off. If any KLX owner feels that way, they can have mine (not sure why I haven't thrown them out).

By comparison, Kawasaki’s KLX250 is $5,399 while Yamaha ’s got two models: the XT250 for $5,199 and the WR250R for $6,699. As said, the KLX has superior suspension in comparison to the Hondas, along with weight being 20 lb less than the lightest Honda. The Yamaha XT makes the KLX look cutting edge with its 80s dual sport air cooled low level suspension. It would be like comparing a Kawasaki Z400 to a Ducati Streetfighter.
