If you're looking for a piece of chrome to accent your bike, you can never go wrong with a nice front folding rack. These look stylish and classic mounted to the front of a Vespa LX or LXV. The ORIGINAL Vespa spring-loaded fold down front rack fits the VESPA LX or VESPA LXV 50cc to 150cc, ALL YEARS. It will require drilling two small holes through the top of the plastic horn cover and notching out the grill. There are 3 different horn grills on the LX and LXV from 2005 to 2014.

It worked okay but was a bit of a pain when doing work on the front of the scooter. I have a Ferrari branded bag that is low enough to not get in front of the headlight. When I sold the GT the new owner wanted the rack so I let it go. 3kg doesn't seem like much as maximum load but my Ferrari bag is the right size and I can get enough in it for a very long weekend and not overload the rack.

You will need to take off the horn cover and requires a few tools and a DRILL (not included). You will need to drill three 16mm (5/8") holes in your horn cover and two 7mm (1/4") holes in the frame under the horn cover using the provided templates. There are separate templates for the GT/GTS and Super series Vespas.

What do you guys use to keep the back rack in horizontal position - same goes for the front. Obviously if there's something weighty enough on it, then that is gonna keep it down, but if there's something light, like a camping ground mat, it keeps popping up and crushing whatever is on it. Probably there's something to buy online somewhere...

Matt there is no way to hold the front rack down with a clip. Now if you loose the clip, which has happened to me before, you would be riding with your big front chrome rack down all the time. I am not a big fan of the chrome clip that's been posted in this thread, because I don't want to scratch my chrome. And I know how much you love chrome.
