The PX80 engine case corresponds to a PX125/150 engine case with a narrower cylinder base. Original 80 and 100 cc cylinders and crankshafts with 48 mm stroke were used. A good combination is the PX80 racing shaft, a SIP road exhaust and a 24 SI carburettor. Here, the cylinder base is turned to fit the PX80 engine housing. However, this also requires a crankshaft with 57 mm stroke and a longer gear ratio.

Racing Cylinder D R by SIP 177 cc

Robert Kremer, ScooterandSpareparts Kissing, November 2011 :"I built this reworked POLINI 2-transfer cylinder into a scooter for one of my customers. When the 3rd cylinder transfer port is blown (gasket), the DR can be also be driven on engines with 2 transfer ports. With using the POLINI head and adapting the cylinder transfer port to POLINI 177 dimensions, the 177 gets more power, but won't be completely indestructible. The OLYMPIA 177 is identical to the DR 177er, and is a very good alternative if the DR if not available. The BFA 288 represents the most powerful aftermarket tuning kit currently available for the smallframe engine. In principle it is simply the BFA 306 concept for the Vespa largeframe models, innovatively transferred to the confines of the Vespa smallframe engine casings. The engine caseThe BFA engine casings for Vespa smallframe models are especially massively constructed and have a high-end production process.
