Product descriptionThe SIP Speedometer/Rev Counter replaces the minimally equipped original speedometer unit with a state-of-the-art multifunctional instrument. This speedometer has an impressively large analogue display for either the scooters speed (up to 140 mph/kph), or that of the motor (up to 14 000 rpm). This means that the speedometer needle can be programmed to display either your current revs or speed. The scooters road speed can be determined by using either the original speed sensor which is built-in the vehicles wiring harness or a digital sensor system, which is separately available. If that's not the problem, you can also check to see if the inner cable is broken by loosening the retaining plate and disconnecting the cable from the knuckle, then gently tug on the inner cable to see if it's loose. If it slides right out, then the inner cable is certainly broken and you'll need to replace the cable. I don't know if you need to open up the instrument housing or not on the GTV in order to remove the speedo cable, but if you can reach the speedo cable from underneath the instrument housing, you may be able to disconnect it without taking anything else apart. Also the speedo illumination is realized like the original, by means of a transversally mounted soffit.
