General InformationThe Vespa Rally replaced the Super Sport as the top of the line sporting scooter from Piaggio. The Rally 180 had thick brushed aluminum badges on both the front and the back of the scooter. On the back, there was one badge located on the frame below the rear package tray that said "Vespa Rally." Another notable feature of the Vespa Rally was the larger fuel tank which was fitted. Replacement headlight assembly for the unavailable sealed beam unit used on American market 70s scooters. This high quality conversion part uses a standard headlight bulb in a more conventional assembly instead of sealed beam unit. The actually lens measures 120mm so it is larger than the euro Primavera and smaller than the euro Rally. It has three tabs on the back and uses the square nut hardware.
The Rally 180 and Rally 200 were almost step-downs from the really nicely designed front suspension on the GS and SS that they replaced. And as for whoever said the Rally 200 was the fastest production vespa - TRUE ...sorta. From my research, the Rally 200 US-spec engine shouldn't have been any faster than a late 70's P200 engine (w/24mm carb). It was that the Euro version had been released with a higher compression head on it, giving more power. For me - the Rally 200 is the choice if you had two sitting next to eachother ...partially for the rarity, mostly for the style.

This 1974 Vespa Rally 200 is powered by a 198cc two-stroke single mated to a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in red with white graphics. Features include oil injection, street lighting, an onboard spare tire, a trailing-link front end, and a locking glovebox, and it has been modified with a CEAB electronic ignition module. This Rally 200 is now offered at no reserve with a removable fairing and windscreen, a chrome luggage rack and passenger backrest, its removed Dell’Orto carburetor, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. A spare tire and rim are mounted behind the left-side wheel cover. Power is transferred to the rear wheel through a four-speed manual transmission that is shifted by twisting the left-hand grip.
