The Piaggio Vespa 50 L (V5A1T) debuted in 1966, being a more luxurious variant of the 50 N version. It had an improved chassis, a double seat and aluminum edge protection on the leg guard. From late 1967, a new hexagonal Piaggio emblem was placed on top of the cascade, which has since been used throughout the vehicle range. Italian regulations defined the 50 as a moped, so that you didn’t need a driver’s license to drive it, only to turn 14. Today, such a scooter can be a collector’s item, but it can also be used for stylish travel around town during the summer season.

Borgo Vespa

Unparalleled views characterize the Borgo estate comprised of several groupings of villas and apartments spread across over 2000 agricultural acres. The main building, a 10 minute drive from the Borgo properties, was once the private villa of the owners. This enchanting estate is in the Val d`Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Beautiful walks, both up into the oak and beech woods, and down into the crete senesi, the unique clay hillocks that characterize the Val d`Orcia landscape. Some of the most beautiful Renaissance, Romanesque, Medieval and Etruscan sites are close by, and in summer, digs for an Etruscan necropolis are ongoing in the field next to the main Borgo villa.
