Modern Vespa Thanks for Opinions on this 61 Vespa I Bought Her

Also the 8" wheels would get lost in the Detroit Potholes. It's such a light bike (especially considering it's made out of metal,) even the Super which is the same basic size/design seemed twice as heavy. Rover Eric wrote: Matt ( Illinoise ) is correct, though ...it's one of the quintessentially styled vespas ... all curvy. hey, I'm 5'11" and... uh... more than 235 lbs (20 more) and my VBB had no problem with 45-50mph (indicated 50-58). The chicks don't care how many ports you have or if your carb is mounted to your piston, heh.

Pick of the Day 1961 Vespa VBB 150

Italy is known for creating some of the most beautiful and iconic vehicles in the world. There is a true iconic and beautiful classic vehicle from Italy that can be bought for an affordable price. The Vespa was Italy’s answer to the need of affordable transportation for the masses. The Pick of the Day is one of these scooters from what many consider the golden age of the Vespa, a 1961 Vespa that is advertised as a 150 Sprint (but is actually a VBB 150) located in Houston, Texas. Looking at the pictures I see a very nicely restored Vespa VBB in red, which is a perfect color for these wonderful scooters.

This scooter was restored by ourselves a few years ago and is still in great condition. The engine has been upgraded to a more reliable PX version but still retains the 8" wheels to maintain the correct look for this model. It has also been painted the original metallic blue paint scheme for the early 1960s VBB Vespa. Very reliable scooter with 12v lighting, all new. The restoration was carried out a couple of years ago and the scooter has been lightly used and dry stored ever since.

VESPA VBB BM 251 Bello Moto SF

VESPA VBB (BM-251)The Vespa VBB was the scooter that powered Piaggio’s scooter lineup in the early 60’s, and for that matter, Italy. It is a wonderful example of good design. These scooters are so well built and so reliable, it will outlast us all. Piaggio made this model for quite a long time, and it went through some minor changes over the years. This scooter was refurbished in Italy before we acquired it.
