Try to find out why/when it changed colour... Ie, was it 'restored'& repainted by a shop... Possibly they restored it using cheap parts, hence the bodge look. Its odd that there is no motor number, so also try to find out why the motor was changed.
The Vespa 150 “VBB” was the bread & butter of the Vespa range from its introduction in 1961 until its eventual phase out and replacement by the Vespa 150 Super (VBC) in 1965. Sadly, because of the model’s relatively high production numbers, the VBB is often one of the most abused, neglected and mis-”restored” of all Vespa models. We showcase this concourse example to illustrate the timeless beauty of this model as the original designers intended. Pure, simple lines exactly as it left the factory, nothing more, nothing less. While by ‘65 the sharper lines of the Sprint and Super models had already supplanted the GL and VBB in Italian showrooms, many export markets including the US continued receiving new VBBs until very late in the year.

I've got it now so that the tail light and the brights (without the pilot bulb) are always on in one switch position, but nothing else in the others. The last setting engages the actual headlight circuit...which is in parallel with the speedo bulb...so make sure your speedo bulb is in there and functional. It's acting as a fuse for the headlight, so if it isn't there the headlight gets too much juice and will pop when you rev up the engine. Hi everyone, I'm new to the site and I hope this post follows the rulesI recently bought a beautiful Vespa VBB 150 from 1965. Once cold I checked the spark plug (Bosh WR8AP), carbon black and dirty. One cold I checked and the spark plug was super black carbonized, not oily. The thread in the cylinder head looks a bit worn, but the spark plug goes in and sticks well anyway. The spark plug sparkles, petrol passes through the carburetor and the smell of petrol comes out of the spark plug hole if I pedal.I honestly don't understand what it can be.
This 1965 Vespa VBB 150 is powered by a 149cc two-stroke single paired with a four-speed manual transmission and equipped with a trailing-link front end, rider and passenger seats, a spare tire with a cover, two locking storage compartments, and an 80-mph speedometer. This VBB is offered at no reserve with a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name. The bike is equipped with a solo saddle, a passenger pillion, and a rear-mounted spare tire with a matching cover. Suspension consists of a single-sided trailing-link front end as well as a swingarm that is built into the engine case and mounted with a single rear shock. The 149cc two-stroke single is integrated with the rear swingarm and features a rotary valve design, domed pistons, and a four-speed manual transmission shifted from the left grip.
its candy apple red with a little suttle flake in it, over a black base coat thats why its a deeper red. Tidy machine that but I really don't like the seat, it'd look much better with a Corsa on it but that's just my opinion. Scoot looks sweet igg, think the seat pad too thick maybe try thinner one with gel pad, but everthing else spot on. Well done mate great colour combo!
