DescriptionOriginal Vespa black side stand kit (KICKSTAND) for the 2003-2013 GT, GTS, and GTV series Vespas. The 200, 250, and 300 cc Vespas can be a little tricky to get up on to the center stand. Great for shorter or smaller riders to use while getting on and off the scooter, even if you are still planning on using the center stand. The special hooked spring installation tool will keep a rogue spring from flying across your garage or from taking out your eye and leaving yourself blind ;).

Almost anything, accessory-wise, that you can fit on a GT will fit on a GTS, and vice versa (usually with little to no modification). When comparing stock bikes, they both come with different seats, and the GT came with a plastic rear rack, as opposed to the GTS's chrome folding one. GTS has a horn cover light and a small fender crest, and the 250 had a partially digital dash. The tail lights, and thus the rear fender, are also slightly different. GT stands for Granturismo, and GTS is Granturismo Sport.
the engine takes a liter of oil. When I did the cannonball, 10 days of 350 miles pretty much wide open, I changed out the oil every two days and put in 850ccs of German 10w60 synthetic. Now, for everyday driving, I change out the filter, dump in a quart of 15/50 and that's it. Until the EPA got into the oil business, the engineers for the manujfacturers would suggest two or three viscosities, depending on your driving conditions and local climate. Racers use thin oils, to cut down on internal friction, and they rebuild their motors after every couple of races.
