Vespas are a single metal body frame - the other brands within piaggio are usually tube frames that then have plastic body pieces attached. Same engine and same or pretty much the same as far as other thing goes...the metal body is the MAIN difference7. Why didn't Piaggio come out with another brand name rather than using PIAGGIO (sort of like General Motors having a CHEVROLET brand and a GENERAL MOTORS BRAND)?

Started right up the LX battery lasted 2yrs and the fit and finish wasn't as good IMHO as the LT. The Vespa looks nicer but overall the Piaggio was a better bike. I prefer the smaller tires on the Vespa. So would you advise owning one given they're a bit odd and maybe more difficult to find service & parts for? The first thing you're going to notice between these two is the styling difference. We'll start with the Piaggio here because it's very much a traditional motorcycle style thing that you would see on any motorcycle. Taking a look at the Vespa, you really have a different look here, but functionally it's very much the same.
